What we do
Happy Gives Foundation carries out its mission through four core activities.
Our first initiative is a partnership with Gen C Coffee and Bloom Arts Foundation, with a goal of raising $1,000,000 for music programs in schools.
Partnership Giving
We build giving partnerships with mission-aligned businesses so that everyday purchases and campaigns generate charitable support. Our current partners are Gen C Coffee and Purity Coffee.
Rather than competing for the same donor attention as every other charity, the Foundation works upstream: we partner with businesses whose customers already care about the things we care about, and we build giving into what those businesses already do.
That means a purchase, a campaign, or a company commitment can turn into charitable support for music education without asking anyone to change their habits.
Music Education Grantmaking
Contributions raised by the Foundation are granted to arts education organizations that deliver music programming inside schools. Bloom Arts Foundation is our program partner for our first initiative.
The Foundation is a grantmaker, not a classroom operator. We hold and steward the contributions we raise, and we grant them to arts education organizations with existing relationships inside schools and a track record of delivering programming to students.
Concentrating grants behind one program partner at a time keeps the giving path short and legible: a donor can see the organization that receives the money and the organization that spends it on students.
Instruments and Instruction
Grant funding is directed to the practical costs of school music — instruments, teaching support, and artist-led sessions — so that a student's participation does not depend on what their family can pay.
Grant funding is aimed at the unglamorous, practical costs that decide whether a school music program exists at all — the instruments themselves, the people qualified to teach, and the working-artist sessions that show students what the instrument is for.
The intent is straightforward: a student should not be sorted out of music because of what their family can pay.
Donor Transparency
We publish our IRS status, EIN, and giving guidance publicly, and provide documentation and a gift acknowledgment letter for every contribution we receive.
Our legal name, EIN, mailing address, and IRS Publication 78 status are published on this site and repeated on every page, so a donor or a grantmaker can verify us without emailing anyone.
Every contribution we receive gets documentation and a gift acknowledgment letter. Questions about how a gift will be used get a direct answer.
A simple partnership structure with a clear giving path.
Four steps, in order, from the point where support is generated to the point where a student picks up an instrument.
